History of the brand Italian factory Exteta specializes in garden furniture and creates amazing things — from cosy armchairs and sofas to comfortable sun loungers and arbors. Furniture pieces are characterized by minimalistic design and high quality of materials, combine elegance, practicalness, functionality and creative approach. Exteta actively cooperates with famous architects — Louis and Roberto Palomba, Paolo Banazzi and others. The collection of Locus Solus by Exteta, presented on Salone del Mobile 2016, had become a real sensation — modern interpretation of garden furniture, created by legendary Italian architect Gae Aulenti in the 70s. Iconic forms, bright colours and pop art’s shades made a real splash in Italy and beyond. Aulenty’s archive granted exclusive licence rights to Exteta, and as a result, famous series of Locus Solus with stylish geometric elements gained a second life. In the new version there were soft hand-made seats, made of fabric with exclusive design of prints or from the range of Exteta company. Main collections of the brand include Zen Line (baseline, laconic design and contrasting colours), Paraggi (soft sun loungers and chairs for rest by the water) and Tea House (garden gazebos). Weather in the house It is important to take into account the weather conditions, when you choose furniture for the garden furnishing. Materials play the decisive role here. Created according to the latest technologies, they not only resist fluctuations of temperature and don’t afraid torrential rains and severe frosts, guaranteeing durability of products, but also allow designers to experiment with shapes. Among the favourites of Exteta — red Canadian cedar, which is strong and don’t afraid of moisture, and its coniferous resin prevents the formation of mold and fungi. Wood of African mahogany also is often found in products of the brand. It’s no wonder that it is still used in building of ships, which also reside in vagaries of the weather. Choosing fabrics, designers prefer those, that are resistant to moisture, maintain elasticity and don’t burn out in the sun. The company cooperates with the American brand Sunbrella (specialized in production of fabrics for yachts for a long time, and now produces collections of high-tech street and interior fabrics) and Italian Loro Piana. |
